Rye Pottery

These are a popular little hand-thrown vase that we’ve been selling in the shop for a while now but are new to our online customers.

They are hand-thrown on a wheel using red clay and then glazed and hand-decorated. The vases currently come in two shapes and two decorative styles, one features simple bands (refined black circles hand-painted at the base) while the other is a “Sgraffito” design, a scratch through technique that we call Tracery.

We produce them in two shapes – Conical or Flask – and either with or without the little RYE stamp on the front.
