Rye Pottery

Our ceramic Hen & Rooster (or Cockerel) is pictured here in Soft Indigo Blue on our signature white base glaze. This is a strong sculptural pair of figures, originally modelled by our long-standing designer Tony Bennett.

As with many of our figures these elegant Chickens are hand-made using traditional slip-casting methods before being decorated individually by hand using freehand brushwork and delicate sponging. These make a lovely countryside addition to any home at any time of year but they are particularly charming as Easter decorations or as a centrepiece for a springtime table center.
